Though at home in a variety of Afro-based musical genres, Makadem is more recently at home carrying on the traditions of the nyatiti, the eight stringed lyre of the Luo people of Western Kenya. His music take old roots and layers modern sounds to create a hypnotic and exilerating mix of sounds.
